yoga classes

In 2010 I will only be teaching one class each week in order to focus more on my own training and to create some pressure and intensity in classes rather than teaching to irregular and small groups. This class is open to all levels but some previous experience is suggested.

time Tuesday 6.30-8pm

place 21 Neales St Kaleen ACT 2617

cost $15/session

Try not to eat three hours prior to class, wear clothes that allow full range of movement. Mats are available for purchase if required.

asana
Students of all levels of experience are guided through a dynamic sequence of asana (movements and poses) that will increase vitality, strength, flexibility and coordination.

Introductory sessions will focus on basic asana, postural/ structural alignment and the integration of respiration.

As students progress, the asana deepen and transform into an uninterrupted flowing sequence — this supports a more meditative consciousness.

style
Sakshin Ghatastha yoga was developed and continues to evolve through the practice and teaching of Sw. Jivan Phahlad. He is a former student of Shandor Remete. I have worked with both teachers over some years and ongoing exchange between student and former teacher informs both of their emergent styles which are flowing, rigorous and focused on cultivating a suitable means for reflection and witnessing one's own conscious processes.
